During a visit to an Imperial Recruitment Center, you are drawn to a holovid of an Imperial Brigadier General.
The actions
of IMPERIAL SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND (ISOC) are conducted by specially
trained, equipped and organized military forces that engage and/or
neutralize strategic or tactical targets in pursuit of Imperial military,
political, economic or psychological objectives. These operations may be
conducted during periods of peace or hostilities. They may support
conventional operations, or they may be undertaken independently when the
use of conventional forces is either inappropriate or infeasible."
You focus more on what is being said. You're genuinely intrigued.
"What separates IMPERIAL SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND from the regular Imperial military is
the fact that they are better trained, more active and are the best of the
best. Many of these soldiers will have many years of military
experience as well as a maturity level that will help facilitate good
order and discipline which will reduce the likelihood of security
breaches. As well, many ISOC training sessions will have Counter-Terrorism
courses of study built-in which shall further increase the ISOC awareness
of security threats."
You glance down at the recruitment package you brought, Join The Chandrilla Auxiliary
Garrison!, and wonder what you were thinking.
"Additionally, the
fact that all ISOC officers will be leaders and commanders will
likely increase the readiness and competence of the unit as a whole as our
officers move on to higher levels of rank and responsibility within the
Command.......this in turn will develop the entire Imperial Military into
an efficient , well oiled fighting machine. Some of the
education and training that we will enhance the regular services with,
will be some of the following ISOC Capabilities:"
- Understanding the
operational environment
- Recognizing
political implications
- Facilitating
inter agency activities
- Engaging the threat
discriminately
- Considering
long-term effects
- Anticipating and
controlling psychological effects
- Applying
capabilities indirectly
- Developing multiple
options
- Ensuring long-term
containment
- Providing sufficient
intelligence
- Balancing security
and synchronization
Only the presence of a
Sergeant beside you draws your attention away from the holovid. He speaks.
"I think we both
know what you are interested in."
The Sergeant
reaches for your old package, and hands you a new recruitment package,
The
Eagle's Nest
"Take your time
... have a good look."
